Maasai Cultural Experience

The Maasai are semi-nomadic pastoralists who have lived alongside the wildlife of the Ngorongoro highlands and the Rift Valley for generations. On this visit you are welcomed into a boma (homestead), with its traditional houses made from wood, grass and mud.

Your hosts explain how families live, the importance of cattle, the role of the warriors and elders, and how traditions are changing. Many visits include traditional songs and the famous jumping dance.

We visit communities who welcome guests, and a fee goes directly to the village. Your guide will explain the customs, translate, and let you know when it is appropriate to take photographs.
