Kilimanjaro Day Hike to Mandara Hut

Drive to the Marangu Gate of Kilimanjaro National Park, register and start hiking through lush montane rainforest with your mountain guide. Look out for colobus and blue monkeys, birds and wild flowers along the trail.

After about three to four hours you reach Mandara Hut, the first camp on the Marangu Route. Enjoy lunch, then take a short walk to the Maundi Crater for views over the plains and, on clear days, towards Kibo. Walk back down to the gate and return to your hotel.
